The Doctrine of Repentance
“All true penitents are children of the cross.”
—James Denney The Death of Christ, ed. R.V.G. Tasker (London, Tyndale Press, 1951), 191.
The New Testament assumes a connection between sin and death. What can be done with sin? Is it possible to remedy or reverse it? Can God forgive sin and restore the soul? Must God’s forgiveness come through the atonement alone? Is there a human necessity for the atonement?
Listen to Pastor John reading excerpts from Denney addressing these questions (from The Death of Christ).
